OK, this has gotten out of hand and we materialistic “keep up with Jones” have been suckered in once again. Why is it that every Christmas season that big companies like Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and so on decide to launch a new product and never have enough of them for the demand. This is no coincidence shoppers, this is the way they want it.

Let?s get real, each of these companies could produce enough of the game systems if they wanted and they could distribute them in a much better way but this would be way too simple and quiet. These companies would prefer to produce enough to create a shortage that drives up the price and creates a mass hysteria. All of this chaos leads to tent cities outside of department stores, violence, fights, shootings, greedy EBay auctions, theft, and fraud, which gives these companies more news coverage and advertising than they could ever dream up, produce, or pay for themselves. We the consumers are creating the advertising hype they want for free which just increases consumer demand which increases the problems all over again. This cycle gets completely out of control and the manufacturers thrive and count on this free advertising to drive more sales.

On top of all of this, my experience has been that the first generations of each new game machine have some bugs to work out. The systems get better, sleeker and more stable with the second and third generations.

So join with me in deciding not to Wii. For the same $600 investment (online auction) I can walk into a department store without any hassle the day before Christmas, pick up a Playstation 2, wireless controllers, joystick, racing wheel, electric guitar, memory cards and about 10 games, maintain a constant blood pressure and not get shot at or robbed leaving the store. My kids will have a great proven gaming system and be just as happy. Besides, we?ll look at the Wii next year when it?s $139 and everyone else is after the new Woo.

A yes, this is what we’ve been so eargerly awaiting from Nintendo.

Wii device isn’t a new product, but i wanted to mention it because there is news on the Nintendo world.

Nintendo Wii launched the big unique controller of any console for Google Earth interface.

Through simple buttons you can tilt to rotate (button B), you can control zoom (button Plus/Minus) and you can view a full-screen (button One).

Seems good to play with Google Earth, but we’re not sure what you’d do with some typical modern games.

I haven’t tried it but i’ll do that soon ,now we just have to want to see how long a device like this takes to get success.

If you haven?t seen the commercials for this new console from Nintendo or heard any of the hype, I would suggest taking a good look around to try and find one of these amazing, innovative gaming systems. I picked up my Wii on Black Friday and consider myself very lucky. The store I waited in front of, from 11pm until they opened at 7am only had 5 Wii units available and since I was 5th in line, I was a lot more fortunate then the 15 people behind me. After my long night I promptly went home and caught some Z?s only to be awoken by my eager kids and even more eager wife a few hours later.

We all gathered around for the opening of the box and we all got our first true look at the console. My first impressions were obviously based around the color and design of the hardware and the uniqueness of the controller (wii-remote). The unit was very small compared to that of Sony?s Playstation 3 and Mircosoft?s Xbox 360 and is about the size of 3 dvd cases stacked on top of one another. The unit can function both horizontally and vertically and fits above my TV with all my other gadgets perfectly, yeah score 1 for Nintendo. The hook up of the Wii went flawlessly, it has 3 cables, one for the power to the unit, one for the analog hook up for your television (HD cables hopefully will come soon) and one for the sensor bar which can either sit on top of your TV or below, depending on your individual needs. The sensor bar detects your movements from the Wii-remote, which is part of the reason this machine is totally different from its competitors. After the hook up of the system it was time to power it on and run through the set up program. You start by giving your Wii a name, ours is called Wee Wii. I know, I know, not the most pleasant name, but you can always change your Wii?s name at a later time. After that stage, if you have a Wi-Fi internet connection the Wii will access it and it will remain connected to the internet even while the power to the Wii is off. Having an internet connection will let the Nintendo update and send downloads to your console. Internet browsing capabilities should be available for the Wii in the 1st quarter 2007. Now your Wii is set up and its time to create your character(s) also known as Mii?s.

The Mii creator is a very fun aspect of the system and it allows you to customize the look of your characters. You can change your height, weight, hair style, hair color, eyebrows, facial structure, facial hair and many other aspects to create your unique Mii. Although the Mii?s are kind of cartoony looking, in the end you will be able to represent yourself pretty accurately. Eventually your Mii characters will wander around and be downloaded to other owner?s consoles across the world, chat features are soon to come as well. Enough about Mii creation lets move on to the fun stuff.

The Nintendo Wii was launched with Wii sports a collection of five sporting games. Boxing, bowling, tennis, golf and baseball are included and those five games should be enough to keep you busy until you have the opportunity to collect other games. At a first glance of the games, where you use your designed Mii characters to play, the graphics are nice, but still cartoony. The graphics are not intended to be the highlight of this system, but rather the use of the wii-remote is where this console excels over all others. Holding the controller in hand (be sure to use your wrist strap at all times) you can really get a feel for being in the game rather than just play a game. If you are playing tennis you would hold the wii-remote as if you holding a tennis racket and overhand swing or backhand swing your way to glory. Boxing is by far the most intense game released with the sports package. You have to use the wii-remote in your primary hand and connect the secondary remote (nunchuck) and use it in your other hand. You can jab by extending your arm(s) straight forward and right or left cross either to the head or body by swing your arms like a real boxer would. You can also hold your hands up in front of your face or body to block incoming punches as well as sway side to side to dodge punches. The innovativeness, interactivity and absolute exercise while having a total blast is what will take Nintendo to the top of the gaming food chain. This system will please all parents across the globe.

In my humble opinion, the Nintendo Wii will take kids (and parents) off of the couch and into the game. With a moderate price tag of $249.99, the Wii is cheaper than most exercise equipment and will produce the same calorie burning results, for you and your family. I know my kids would never spend any amount of time performing exercises, but what they don?t know will not hurt them. The Wii is very cleaver and disguises exercise with playing your favorite games. ?Nintendo Wii, turning couch potatoes into controller wielding athletes?.

Customer Review: Nice gun
This is a nice gun accessory for the Wii. I use rechargable battery packs in my remotes, which won’t fit in other gun accessories, they fit in the Nerf one just fine. The dart gun part is fairly easily modified to shoot further (if you have a small saw and an appropriate adhesive). I increased the range of mine about 30-50% by removing the air restrictors and sealing a couple of holes in the barrel. Nintendo has offered to replace 3.2 million Wii remote straps after users complained that the cord broke too easily.

The Wii, which sells for $279.00 at Best Buy stores in Canada, went on sale in November, just in time for the Christmas rush. But soon afterwards, gamers began reporting cases of the device’s wrist strap snapping during game play.

“A lot of people are saying that strap has not been well made, and is actually snapping and people are throwing their controllers into their televisions and breaking their $3,000 plasmas,” said CTV’s technology expert Kris Abel.

A spokesperson for the company insisted that the offer was ?not a recall.? The current wrist-strap is perfectly safe and passed all required tests according to the statement.

The act put out by Nintendo has been taken to ensure peace of mind among the Wii?s early user base.

Nintendo says that it has already started shipping Wii remote control accessories with the updated strap.

The company also announced that it has recalled 200,000 AC adapters for the Japanese version of the Nintendo DS and DS Lite handhelds.

Nintendo is aiming to begin shipping replacement straps directly to consumers on December 21st and says that people shoudl allow 5 to 9 days for delivery in the US and Canada.

“The Wii Remote is meant to be gripped, and the wrist straps are a secondary measure,” the press release states.

“We have found that some consumers get more excited playing Wii Sports than we could have imagined. This resulted in a very small number of wrist straps breaking. We have replaced the broken wrist straps and continue to reinforce with consumers the safe and fun use of our products.”

Nintendo recalled 200,000 AC adapters for its DS and DS Lite consoles in Japan on Friday, saying the recall would not affect adapters overseas.

Officials expected only a small impact on earnings.

No More Heroes
You are Travis Touchdown, a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak) who wins a Beam Katana through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer. One day, an assassin named Helter Skelter appears before Travis and the two face off in a battle. Travis emerges victorious and finds himself in the presence of Silvia Christel, a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA. Silvia gives Travis official rank of 11 in the organization. Now, it’s up to you to become #1. No More Heroes takes place in the city of Santa Destroy, and you are free to explore the town to your liking, taking on missions large and small to collect money and purchase new weapons as you work up towards the 10 main killing contracts. Gameplay is all about using your Beam Katana (via Wii remote) to defeat enemies.

Customer Review: Very Disappointing
Two things prompted me to purchase this game; the positive reviews from online gaming sites and the low price. What I ended up with is one of the most overrated games I have ever played. The game starts off well enough with a helpful tutorial. The fighting engine is interesting and puts the Wii remote to good use. Next, players are launched into the action exploring a mansion and testing out new skills. Right off the bat I was disappointed to see that players have essentially no interaction with the environment. Goldeneye was doing environmental destruction over a decade ago, would it be so hard for modern games to feature it? Each level consists of fighting through waves of enemy foot soldiers before battling the boss level assassin. For the most part the enemy assassins are creative and fun to fight but it felt like UBI Soft ran out of steam as the enemies seemed to get less interesting as the game progressed..

When my wife saw me playing the driving portion of `No More Heroes’ she asked if it was the Wii’s version of `Grand Theft Auto’. This was my initial reaction as well. The other game it reminds me of was True Crime: Streets of LA. Despite getting some pretty good reviews in its time I found True Crime to be painfully ugly particularly compared to the spectacular GTA. `No More Heroes’ is much better looking than True Crime but it’s still a poor mans GTA. The game features a lot of pop-ins as you drive through the city and the frame rate sputters along. The Wii is much more powerful than the GameCube but it still strains to produce a fully realized cities. The dimensions of Santa Destroy (dumb name) are puny compared to the ones in GTA although it is a fairly active city. My last issue is more a stylistic. The designers decided to give everything in the game large jet black shadows but I just don’t think it works. The graphics are already a bit muddy and adding all this black only makes it more difficult for the player to see.

It’s the fighting portion that got the reviewers attention and it’s pretty good but like everything in this game it is extremely repetitive. As the game progresses you acquire a hefty list of wrestling moves. The problem is the wrestling moves are always inferior to the sword so I constantly found myself falling back on slash slash slash. This is symptomatic of a larger failing in the game. Everything is just so darn repetitive. Drive around, earn money, kill lots of people, fight a boss. Repeat.

The thing that defines this game for me most is the refrigerator in your apartment. Opening the refrigerator heals your character completely but there is simply no way you can be in your apartment and not be at full health. It’s sort of emblematic of how unfinished the game feels. By the end the designers just seemed to be trying to get the game to the market. Early on the player explores a decently modeled mansion but the lead up to one of the later bosses was just a seemingly endless narrow hallway. I kid you not. A completely non-descript hall with an enemy every 40 or 50 feet. I could think of so many games I would have rather been playing while I slowly walked down the tedious hall.

In the end No More Heroes is a step forward for Nintendo as far as open ended city games are concerned but a step backwards in general as Rockstar has been producing better games in this genre for years on other platforms. The fighting is good but gets old and the exploration was done better by games I played a decade ago. In no area does the game excel not in driving, or fighting or adventuring or collecting. If I had it to do all over again I would not have purchased this game even at the reduced price.

Customer Review: Hipster game requires lots of wrist arm movement
Lack of seriousness of the game and crazy wrist and arm movement is what turned me off to this game. I bought this game because of Gamespot’s somewhat high review. The graphics are like Cel Shading.

I don’t judge games on graphics but game play and immersion.

This game is Wii shovelware that trys to take advantage of wireless controls. You need to shake the controller for every kill in this game encounter which is ridiculous .

The next generation consoles are here: Playstation 3, XBOX360 and Nintendo Wii. Which one is going to win the next-gen war?

The XBOX360 had the advantage of an early release, and is still doing really well in the market, having a 3.2GHZ IBM PowerPC tri-core processor and a 500MHZ GPU, the console is mainly attractive do it’s powerful running speeds, fast-paced online action and mind-blowing graphics.

Plus the console is moderate in pricing: it costs $299.99 for a core system, and $399.99 for a premium system. The cost for one of these is well in between the Playstation 3’s horribly expensive price, and the Wii’s cute cheapness.

One main bad point about the 360, is that because it does not contain a processor from the original Xbox, it cannot play original Xbox games without additional emulation software from the Internet.

Now to the Playstation 3:-

The Playstation 3 is highly expensive, but unfortunately for us Europeans and the Australians, we cannot grab ours until March 2007. So much for a Christmas present….

But for the money it comes at ($499.99 for 20gb and $599.99 for 60gb) the Playstation 3 might be worth it, with the new Sixaxis controller and Blu-Ray drive, it will appeal to some as an entertainment system.

The Playstation 3 contains a Cell Broadband Engine (3.2GHZ) IBM Power-based CPU is almost equal to that of the XBOX360, and the more powerful 550MHZ RSX GPU (based on NVIDIA G70) gives gamers an almost real-life experience! Perfect hardware for Racing and FPS games.

Playstation 3 is highly compatible with the Playstation Portable (PSP) and is often used in games as a controller, once it has been used in a racing game as a rear-view mirror.

Playstation 3 is also compatible with most Playstation and Playstation 2 titles, and future firmware updates will provide more compatibility.

Finally, to the Nintendo Wii:-

The Nintendo Wii is the most unusual console out of the three, and is the one I shall be getting for Christmas this year.

It has a IBM Broadway processor and a ATI Hollywood GPU. It is not as powerful as the XBOX360 or the Playstation 3, but the Wii’s unique game play and controller makes all the difference.

Being able to use the controller as anything from a sword, to a baseball bat, even to a steering wheel makes games active, and can even be a form of exercise.

Plus, Nintendo has got a lot of killer-applications on it’s side, such as Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Pok?mon Battle Revolution.

To top it all off, Nintendo Wii is backwards compatible with Nintendo GameCube, can connect via wireless link to a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite and download Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, NES, Sega Mega-Drive (Genesis) and TurboGrafx-16 games for a small price, then keep them and play them on your console!

So what do you want? The expensive yet powerful Playstation 3? Or perhaps you want the average priced and powerful XBOX360, or do you want the cheap, unique and highly-backward-compatible Nintendo Wii?

What’s new with this console? The Nintendo Wii is a highly evolved gaming system which has barely shown its capabilities. Nintendo has introduced a new way of playing games that is fun for the whole family. The controller (Wii-mote) closely resembles your standard television remote is completely wireless and has triple axis motion sensors. I find the Wii-mote to be very accurate and it allows users to swing and twist their way through new innovative and very creative games. The Wii-mote also has a port to plug in a second controller to allow you to use both hands for certain types of games. The Secondary controller called the Nunchuck has an analog joystick and a couple of buttons to allow more control with various games and has a very ergonomic design.

The sports game package that comes standard with the console shows the true potential of this system. Boxing for example (included in the sports game package), lets you jab and punch by extending your arm(s) forward and allows you to block by holding the controllers in front of your face like a real boxer would do in order to block a punch. You can also dodge from side to side by moving your upper body in the respective direction. You can see my six year old daughter boxing and showing off her stuff on our family website. No more sitting on the couch pushing buttons, its time to really get in the game. I haven’t been an avid sports game player, but with this new technology I can hardly wait for some of the major sports titles to be released. I am really looking forward to Tiger Wood’s Golf 2007 and might even consider other sports games because they are going to be really fun and very realistic.

Due to some of the necessary movements involved when playing the Nintendo Wii, I would almost recomend a mild streching session before playing. My wife and I found that out the hard way, with sore muscles the day after playing. At least I know we were getting a bit of exercise, which other gaming consoles can not provide.

What?s new with this console? The Nintendo Wii is a highly evolved gaming system which has barely shown its capabilities. Nintendo has introduced a new way of playing games that is fun for the whole family. The controller (Wii-mote) closely resembles your standard television remote is completely wireless and has triple axis motion sensors. I find the Wii-mote to be very accurate and it allows users to swing and twist their way through new innovative and very creative games. The Wii-mote also has a port to plug in a second controller to allow you to use both hands for certain types of games. The Secondary controller called the Nunchuck has an analog joystick and a couple of buttons to allow more control with various games and has a very ergonomic design.

The sports game package that comes standard with the console shows the true potential of this system. Boxing for example (included in the sports game package), lets you jab and punch by extending your arm(s) forward and allows you to block by holding the controllers in front of your face like a real boxer would do in order to block a punch. You can also dodge from side to side by moving your upper body in the respective direction. You can see my six year old daughter boxing and showing off her stuff on our family website. No more sitting on the couch pushing buttons, its time to really get in the game. I haven?t been an avid sports game player, but with this new technology I can hardly wait for some of the major sports titles to be released. I am really looking forward to Tiger Wood?s Golf 2007 and might even consider other sports games because they are going to be really fun and very realistic.

Due to some of the necessary movements involved when playing the Nintendo Wii, I would almost recomend a mild streching session before playing. My wife and I found that out the hard way, with sore muscles the day after playing. At least I know we were getting a bit of exercise, which other gaming consoles can not provide.

The parachute infantry played a major role in overcoming the German onslaught in WWII.Many missions completed during this time by the parachute infantry were considerable damaging to enemy forces.The most successful parachute infantry mission in history is Operation Varsity.This was the largest force ever deployed by the para military.It was a major turning point in the war and marked the beginning of the German downfall.

The effectiveness of these troopers comes down to their ability to maneuver in areas of dense jungle. bush and other intrepid places.They can be deployed in over any area that a plane can fly which forces their enemies to focus manpower on eliminating this threat.

In order for the regiment infantry to maneuver in this way they are lightly equipped in terms of weaponry.They are highly mobile and intensively trained.Paratroopers have become a strong support for traditional forces and are able to provide a unique dimension to offensive and defensive military maneuvers.

The price for the new Nintendo Wii is quite competitive to say the least. In fact, the word competitive does not do this system any justice. The bottom line is that the Wii beats the competition in price across the board. If you are in the market for one of the newer gaming systems there is no better option than the Wii. Of course you can opt for another like the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, but if you do this you will have to pay as much as $300 more. Are you willing to do this for a system that many believe is not better than the Wii?

In September 2006 Nintendo began to release information about the seventh generation gaming console known as the Wii. Many people may have been surprised to learn at that time that the Wii is being priced at the low cost of $249.99. To the amateur gamer or somebody who is not in the know, $249.99 may seem like a lot of money; and for good reason. But when you look at Wii prices compared to those of other systems you will be happy that you are interested in what Nintendo has to offer. A new Microsoft Xbox 360 will set you back about $400, whereas the Playstation 3 is being price at $600. So for less than half the cost of the newest Playstation you can pick up a brand new Nintendo Wii.

In addition to the price of the console itself, there are also a few other Wii prices that you should be aware of. For example, a Wii remote is going to set you back approximately $40. Also if you want to purchase accessories such as nunchuks you will have to shell out $20. The games that are compatible with the Wii will cost $60 on average. Yes, this is a bit much, but with the newest features and graphics it is safe to say that it is well worth the money.

It is obvious that Wii prices are among the best in the industry. And there is one thing that you are probably forgetting in all of this pricing excitement. That being the fact that the Wii is supposed to be able to hold its own against the other gaming consoles that are available. So what situation is better for you? Spending $600 on a new system, or being able to get the same thing for only $250? It is safe to say that if you are a consumer you are going to opt for the one that costs hundreds of dollars less.

Overall, Wii prices are something that the industry should be excited about. In today?s day and age of technology it is easy for manufacturers to get carried away when it comes to pricing. The fact of the matter is that Nintendo could have easily gotten away with pricing the Wii at $300 or more. But instead of doing this they wanted to stay true to their roots and offer a gaming system that is top notch, for a price that the majority of people could justify spending.

If you are interested in the new Nintendo Wii you should be pretty excited about the cost of the unit. No, you are not going to get it for only a few bucks, but all in all when you compare Wii prices to other units you are most definitely getting a good deal. The Nintendo Wii does not hit stores until November 19, 2006, but with that being said the suggested retail price has been released. The new Wii is going to be priced at $249.99 in the United States. It is safe to say that this low price alone will draw in a lot of customers who do not want to shell out big time money for other gaming systems.

If you compare Wii prices to the Playstation 3 that is also being released in November you will notice one very important thing. The price of the Nintendo Wii is $300 less than that of the new Playstation. That is right; you can buy two Wii units for less than one Playstation 3. With that in mind, it is going to come down to which unit the majority of gamers feel is the better value. Even though you are paying more if you buy the Playstation it does not necessarily mean that you are getting a better deal. It is safe to say that the consumer will decide on what is better over the next few months. This is especially true due to the fact that the holiday season is among us.

Another competitor that you may want to compare Wii prices to is the Microsoft Xbox 360. When the Xbox 360 was released it came at two separate price points; $299 and $399. The higher priced version came with all of the bells and whistles that most gamers were looking for out of a new system. And even though the Xbox has been around for more than a year, prices still remain higher than that of the new Nintendo Wii.

So as you can see when you compare prices of all the systems the Wii comes out on top time and time again. Not only does the new Wii beat competition such as the Playstation 3, but it also competes quite well against older systems such as the Xbox.

The bottom line is that you can compare Wii prices to any other system, and the one from Nintendo comes out on top time and time again. It is obvious that when Nintendo started to draw up plans for its seventh generation game console that they took price into consideration. They figured that if they could offer the best features at a low price that they would come out on top.

Time will tell if the new Nintendo Wii is priced correctly. One thing is for sure. Nintendo will win over a lot of customers for the pure fact that there price is up to three hundred dollars cheaper than the competition. In a comparison of gaming system prices, the Nintendo Wii comes out on top in the end.
